SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA FOLK ART PORTRAIT OF A GIRL, oil on canvas, a charming depiction of a young sitter wearing a straw hat with blue ribbon, she seated at a table bearing clusters of ripe red cherries, no signature located, on original stretcher retaining printed label for a Washington, DC artist supply merchant. Housed in likely original gilt frame with molded-composition ornamentation. Fourth quarter 19th century. 25 1/4" x 19 1/4" sight, 32" x 26" OA.
Condition
Excellent overall condition with very minor craquelure and discoloration. Very minor areas of inpainting / overpainting to background. Frame with minor wear and losses.
