STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC COVERED VEGETABLE DISH, square form with cover having figural flower finial, featuring States series patterns, having central interior image depicting Trematon Castle, Cornwall with sailboats on lake in foreground, flanked by patriotic female figures Justice and Liberty on platforms reading "AMERICA AND / INDEPENDENCE", double border featuring 15 states enumerated in swags interspersed with stars, exterior featuring Coghill Hall, Yorkshire to each side. Impressed crown mark with "CLEWS / WARRANTED / STAFFORDSHIRE" below to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 6" HOA, 12 1/2" x 9 3/4".
