STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC JUG / PITCHER, ribbed ovoid form, featuring the "LANDING / OF / GEN. LA FAYETTE / At / NEW YORK / 16th August 1824", printed in floral cartouche below spout, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor to each side. Unmarked. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 7 7/8" HOA.

Condition

Excellent visual condition, having some professional restoration to chips on spout and top of handle, and a faint radial hairline to underside that does not appear to go through to interior.
