STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC JUG / PITCHER, ribbed ovoid form, featuring the "LANDING / OF / GEN. LA FAYETTE / At Castle Garden / NEW YORK / 16th August 1824", printed in floral cartouche below spout, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor to each side. Printed "T" to underside, otherwise unmarked. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 8 7/8" HOA.
