STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL "THE BALTIMORE & OHIO / RAILROAD" TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATE, depicting a level locomotive with cars, having bold shell border. Additional marks to underside include a printed American eagle with shield and banner with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and impressed eagle with "E. WOOD & SONS / BURSLEM / WARRANTED / SEMI CHINA". Enoch Wood & Sons, Burslem, England. 1818-1846. 10 1/8" D.
