STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF TWO, each featuring the "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE / at Castle Garden New York / 16 August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor, with floral border. Each having impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 5 1/2" and 9" D.
