STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC VEGETABLE DISH, ovoid form, featuring the "LANDING OF GEN. LA FAYETTE / at Castle Garden New York 16 August 1824", printed below scene, depicting the arrival of the Marquis de Lafayette from France to New York Harbor, with floral border. Impressed crown mark encircled with "CLEWS WARRANTED STAFFORDSHIRE" to underside. Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge, England. 1814-1834. 1 5/8" HOA, 7 3/4" x 5 3/4".
