STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring the Arms of "NEW JERSEY", depicting a central shield having three plows to front and horses head at top, flanked by female figures Liberty and Ceres representing the state motto, "Liberty and Prosperity", having vine and flower border decoration. Marks to underside include printed American eagle with shield, grasping ribbon with "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and impressed "18". Thomas Mayer, Stoke, England. 1826-1838. 19 1/8" x 14 7/8".
