STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC VEGETABLE DISH AND COVER, featuring the Arms of Virginia depicting Virtue, representing the State, standing on Tyranny, a man stretched on the ground, with crown fallen from his head, and state motto, "SIC semper tyranius" printed to ribbon with "VIRGINIA" below. Marks include printed American eagle grasping ribbon with "E PLURIBUS UNUM" and printed "2". Thomas Mayer, Stoke, England. 1826-1838. 7 1/2" HOA, 12 1/8" x 10 5/8".

Condition

Excellent visual condition, having some areas of professional restoration including to rim, foot, and cover finial reattached, having some expected usage wear including light short scattered scratches to interior.
