STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATTER, featuring the Arms of "DELAWARE", depicting a farmer lifting a ship with his left hand and a militiaman, each standing beside a shield featuring an ox to bottom and a wheat sheaf and corn to top, having "LIBERTY AND INDEPENDENCE" printed to ribbon below, vine and flower border decoration. Marks to underside include printed American eagle grasping ribbon with "E PLURIBUS UNUM", and impressed "16". Thomas Mayer, Stoke, England. 1826-1838. 16 7/8" x 13 1/8".
