STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC COVERED VEGETABLE DISH, octagonal footed form, featuring light blue "BALLSTON SPRINGS.", as printed to underside, depicting figures strolling in a town street with steepled church in background, cover having images of Caldwell, Lake George, from the American Cities and Scenery series. Additional marks to underside include impressed "50", "Improved / Stone China", "21" to cover, and hand-brushed museum accession numbers "79.168.a,b". Charles Meigh, Hanley, England. 1835-1849. 6 3/8" HOA, 9 1/2" x 9 1/8".
