STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC PLATES, LOT OF FOUR, each having black transfer scene with printed title to back, comprising "INDIAN / SCENERY" depicting a hunter and tiger, "MORAL MAXIMS" #1, "COMMERCE. / Free Trade" #1, and "GONDOLA" #1. One having additional impressed quatrefoil mark to underside. William Hackwood, Hanley; Ralph & James Clews, Cobridge; Edward & George Phillips, Longport, England. First half 19th century. 9 3/8" to 10 5/8" D.

Condition

Mostly excellent, undamaged condition, except "Indian Scenery" with faint radial hairline primarily visible to back and some with minor, light short scattered scratches.
