STAFFORDSHIRE VIRGINIA AMERICAN VIEW TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SHELL DISH, featuring light blue transfer "THE VALLEY OF / SHENANDOAH FROM / JEFFERSONS ROCK", as printed to underside, depicting figures overlooking a serene river between mountains, having narrow lace border decoration. Additional marks to underside include an impressed Royal Coat of Arms (lion and unicorn) with "OPAQUE / GRANITE / CHINA / W.R. & Co." to shield. William Ridgway, Shelton, Hanley, England. 1830-1854. 1 1/2" HOA, 8 1/4" x 4 5/8".
