STAMPED "J.CM", JEREMIAH C. MARTIN, YANCEY, CO., NORTH CAROLINA STONEWARE JAR, alkaline-glazed, "3" gallon capacity mark, graceful ovoid form with flat-top rim, and applied curved tab handles. Jeremiah C. Martin, (ca. 1800-?), Yancey Co., NC. 19th century. 12 3/4" H, 7 3/8" D rim.

Provenance: From the Ann and Clay Ring family collection, Winston-Salem, NC.
Catalogue Note: In 2004, the Mint Museum had two pieces by Jeremiah C. Martin in their collection including one stamped "JCM / 3".
Excellent condition, except having two adjacent minor chips to rim and each handle with flake.
