STAMPED NEW YORK STONEWARE JUGS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each approximately one-gallon capacity and of beehive form with strap handle, Albany-slip glazed interior, comprising a merchant's example with "FIRM OF JOHN MATTHEWS / M'FRS OF / CARBONATED BEVERAGES, SIRUPS ETC / 333-337 EAST 26TH ST N.Y." to side and one having "C. HART & SON, / [S]HERBURNE, N.Y." to shoulder, each having cobalt highlighting stamp. Charles Hart & Son (Nahum), Sherburne, NY; and other. Second half 19th century. 10 1/2" HOA.
