STAMPED "SOL[O]MAN BELL / [STRAS]B[UR]G / VA", SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE PAN, salt-glazed, "1 1/2" gallon capacity mark, deep, slightly conical form with squared rim and shallow pour spout, lightly incised shoulder ring, and applied arched handles with medial ridge. Brushed cobalt wave/undulating vine decoration to each side, additional cobalt to handle terminals. The shop of Solomon Bell (1817-1882), Strasburg, VA. 1845-1860. 6 3/8" H, 11 1/4" D rim, 7 3/8" D base.
