STAMPED STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, each having "1" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with beaded neck ring, comprising one example with squared rim and J. Eberly & Bro. shield-form stamp, and one example with faint "S.H. SONNER" stamp. Sonner example with brushed cobalt horizontal feather decoration repeated three times to shoulder. The pottery of Jacob Eberly (1830-1908) and Daniel Letcher Eberly (1859-1919); and Samuel Harrison Sonner (1821-1901), Strasburg, VA. 1854-1885. 8 7/8" H, 6 3/4" D rim and 9 1/8" H, 6 3/4" D rim.
