STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA POLYCHROME-DECORATED EARTHENWARE / REDWARE MUG, lead-, copper-, and manganese-glazed over a slip wash, cylindrical form with slightly tapering middle, incised ring below rim and above foot, and applied rounded handle. Probably Jacob Eberly (1830-1908) and Daniel Letcher Eberly (1859-1919), or Samuel Leonard Bell (1811-1891) and/or his sons Richard Franklin, Turner Ashby, and Charles Forrest Bell, Strasburg, VA. Fourth quarter 19th century. 4 1/8" H, 4 1/8" DOA rim.
