THADDEUS DAVIDS & CO NEW YORK ADVERTISING STONEWARE JUGS, LOT OF TWO, comprising one with Bristol-slip, light brown upper, shoulder impressed "THADDEUS DAVIDS & CO / MANUFACTURING STATIONERS / 127 & 129 WILLIAM STREET / NEW YORK" with a smaller impressed maker's mark reading "LONDON POTTERY / J. STIFF & SONS / LAMBETH", and remaining with a white-slip exterior having a black-printed "DAVIDS' INK" at base of front. Second half 19th/first half 20th century. Bristol-slip jug 11" HOA, 6 1/2" DOA.
Good condition overall with Bristol-slip example having a chip to spout, and several hairlines in the spout, handle, and shoulder radiating down into the body; the white-slip example having a moderate chip and smaller minor chips to base edge.
