VIRGINIA OR NORTH CAROLINA CHIPPENDALE WALNUT SIDE CHAIR, featuring squared crest rail, over pierced splat, trapezoidal seat frame, raised on square legs joined with a stretcher base. Later upholstery over likely original slip-seat. Retains an old surface with warm color. Fourth quarter 18th century. 36 1/2" HOA, 17" H seat, 15" D seat.

Very good overall condition, repairs and likely later seat rails, lacking one glue blocks others likely later, old break with associated repair to crest repair, scattered minor patch repairs, and with minor wear.
