VIRGINIA WALNUT HANGING SPICE BOX, nailed case with shaped back, slant top having hinged lid concealing interior with a later detached divider, above a singular drawer with dovetailed construction and original dividers, retaining likely original brass knobs, four later applied metal tacks to base. Poplar and yellow pine secondary wood. Retains an old surface with warm color. Mid 19th century. 12" HOA.

Good overall condition with expected usage wear and a few scattered minor age cracks, back with a thin strip along proper right side, drawer face with a patch repair to proper right lower corner.
