VIRGINIA YELLOW PINE CHILD'S BLANKET CHEST, hinged rectangular lid with battens affixed to the underside, over a dovetailed case, with applied bracket feet, sides with cut-outs. Retains an old refinished surface with warm color. First half 19th century. 14" H, 24 3/4" W, 12" D.
Provenance: From the collection of Katy and Jim Sheppard, Weston, WV.
Discovered at a plantation near Petersburg, Virginia.
Good overall condition, lid can become detached, losses to feet, and with areas of expected usage wear.
