WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE CHURN, salt-glazed, designated five-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, collared neck, galleried rim with inner seat, applied arched handles, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "A. P. DONAGHHO / Parkersburg, W.Va.", additional two decorative bands and ornaments flanking capacity mark. Circa 1875. 18 1/4" H, 8 3/4" D rim.
Provenance: Property from the estate of Clarence and Coralena Smith, Romney, WV.
Excellent condition except having minor chip to each handle and minor flakes to beaded neck rings.
