WEST VIRGINIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-quart capacity, cylindrical form with flat-top rounded rim, a beaded neck ring, slight shoulder, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt curved "RICHEY & HAMILTON. / PALATINE. / W.VA", additional decorative bow and cord ornament below names, and brushed cobalt stripe below rim. Circa 1875. 7 3/4" H, 4 1/2" D rim.
