WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA STENCILED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, designated two-gallon capacity, cylindrical form with slight shoulder, beaded neck ring, Albany-slip glazed interior. Stenciled cobalt "R.T. WILLIAMS. / NEW GENEVA, PA.", some additional decorative ornaments, brushed cobalt stripe below rim and above base, a wavy line above stencil, and "2" capacity below. Robert T. Williams, New Geneva, PA. 1882-1895. 11 3/4" H, 7 1/4" D rim.
Condition
Excellent, undamaged condition, having some whitish residue to one side.
