WYTHE CO., VALLEY OF VIRGINIA, WALNUT PUNCHED-TIN-PANELED FOOD / PIE SAFE, rectangular top over two double-paneled doors, ends fitted with single tin hand-punched in the urn-grape-and-star pattern, the whole raised on finely turned feet. Poplar secondary wood. Retains likely original wooden knobs and an old refinished surface with warm color. Reserve. Attributed to the shop of Fleming K. Rich (Wythe Co., VA, 1806-1861) and his family. Mid 19th century. 48 1/4" H, 54" W, 18 1/2" D.
