AMERICAN COIN SILVER TEASPOONS AND SUGAR TONGS, LOT OF FIVE, comprising a pair of sugar tongs by William Roe of Albany, Kingston, Troy, and New York City, NY (active 1776-1830) having tapered handles with ovoid grips, and a set of four teaspoons marked "I. BECK." possibly for John O. Beck of Philadelphia, PA (active c. 1834) with engraved "CWC" initials. Each impressed with a mark, tongs with "W [pellet] R" mark having a notched cartouche, which had been formerly attributed to William Richardson of Richmond, VA (active 1769-1809). Total weight: 2.930 ozt. Late 18th/first half 19th century.
