AMERICAN PAINTED WALNUT STEP-BACK CUPBOARD, one-piece construction, applied molded cornice over two hinged six-light doors concealing two fixed interior shelves fitted with plate rails, above two short drawers and two fielded-panel cabinet doors, flanked by solid ends, raised on a cut-out bracket base. Poplar secondary wood. Retaining early, possibly original, mustard-painted surface. Probably Mid-Atlantic. Second quarter 19th century. 79 1/4" HOA, 52 1/2" WOA, 17 1/2" DOA.

Good overall condition with scattered wear. Restoration to proper left rear foot and to proper right end cornice. Possible restoration to areas of surface.
