ANTIQUE BACCARAT INTERLACED GARLANDS STARDUST CARPET GROUND MILLEFIORI ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT, central stardust ground with a blue interior encircled by an interior garland of green, red, and white complex whirls, exterior featuring two interlocked garlands comprising of red star canes and green and white arrowhead canes, all above a plain white stardust carpet ground with isolated blue interior rings, polished pontil mark. The Compagnie des Verreries et Cristalleries de Baccarat. 1845-1855. 2 1/4" H, 3" D.

Catalogue Note: According to Dunlop Interlacing Trefoils pattern on a carpet ground are very rare. Carpet ground paperweights are some of the most iconic and visually stunning designs. As a result, they are heavily sought after.

Condition

Excellent condition overall with the dome being largely undamaged except for a minute bruise, aesthetics when looking down remaining excellent, clear, and unimpeded; base edge having overall roughness, two adjacent sliver flakes and a few crescent-form bruises, some light surface pitting around the base edge.
