BRITISH / STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC SUGAR BOWLS, LOT OF FIVE, each having blue transfer, comprising one lacking cover featuring Monopteros, one example with molded lion's head handles and finial depicting Elephant scene to interior and floral exterior, one with Zebra pattern to cover and floral exterior, and one example including an undertray, featuring "ORIENTAL" pattern, as printed to underside, depicting exotic domed buildings with figures wearing turbans. Marks to underside include impressed "ROGERS", printed beehive and urn with WR below. William Ridgway, Shelton, Hanley; John Rogers & Son, Longport, England; T & J Bevington, Swansea, Wales. Oriental tureen undamaged; undertray having a minute rim chip with associated hairline; Monopteros having a faint rim hairline to interior; Elephant having a minor chip to interior rim and cover with a faint hairline; Zebra example having three rim hairlines, only one appears to go through to exterior, moderate crazing with light discoloration to interior, and cover with a hairline and some scattered flakes and chips to underside edge.
