CIVIL WAR FREEMAN / HOARD ARMORY ARMY MODEL PERCUSSION REVOLVER, 44 caliber, six-shot cylinder, round barrel, frame strap with "FREEMAN'S PAT DECr 9. 1862" and "HOARD'S ARMORY, WATERTOWN N.Y." marking on top, walnut grips. Serial #870 consistent on lever and frame, of about 2,000 total production. 1863-1864. 13" LOA, 7 3/8" barrel.
Provenance: From the collection of Williston and Josephine Cofer, Alexandria, VA.
Fair condition with some scattered pitting, overall chocolate color, grips with loss to one lower corner and surface chip to other. (UPDATED 11/10/22) Trigger engages the hammer, but cylinder does not rotate.
