CUT-OVERLAY AND ENGRAVED FLORAL KEROSENE STAND LAMP, cranberry to colorless pyriform font with engraved stylized vine over panels and punties, brass tapered fluted stem with floral scalloped foot, and a double-step marble base with stamped brass ornamentation, period No. 1 brass collar. with patent dates. Fitted with a period setup comprising a T. Hall No. 1 lip burner, thumbwheel marked "PATENTED MAR. 3. 1866 / SEP'T 18TH 1866", top of air distributor with two hinged wires which are attached to the underside base of the coronet and deflector, the mechanism allows the top to hinge back for wick trimming and down for burning, brass 3 1/2" D shade holder which is supported by an encircling ring around the collar, colorless frosted Oregon shade with stylized pattern, and a colorless lip chimney of unusual thickness. Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. and others. 1860-1880. 18" H to top of shade, 11 1/4" H to top of collar, 4 1/2" SQ base. Shade: 6 1/4" HOA, 3 1/4" D fitter.

Condition

Excellent condition, font and stem undamaged, several scattered as-made imperfections including bubbles, marble steps with expected minor flakes/roughness. Burner undamaged; shade fitter with probably as-made minute flakes/roughness, top of rim with a shallow chip, chimney with manufacturing imperfections including a fitter underfill.
