CUT OVERLAY WASHINGTON KEROSENE COMPOSITE STAND LAMP, opaque white to colorless pyriform font, brass wide-band fluted stem and single-step marble base, No. 2 fine-line collar, brass connectors, colorless wafer construction. Fitted with a period setup comprising an E. F. Jones No. 2 lip burner, thumbwheel marked "E. F. JONES PATENT. JANUARY 11, 1859" and with wing symbol, with a Merrill's air director, marked "R. S. MERRILL PATENT JUNE 14. 1859", brass 4 1/4" D stamped shade ring, colorless and frosted ball-form shade with four windows of engraved foliage pinwheels. Non-period colorless chimney. Probably Boston & Sandwich Glass Co., and others. 1860-1875. 22" H to top of shade, 14 1/2" H to top of collar, 5 1/8" SQ foot. Shade 6 1/4" H, 4" D fitter.

Excellent condition, font undamaged, stem with wear to finish, connector with several splits, marble with expected minute flakes/roughness. Setup undamaged, shade fitter with normal as-made roughness.
