IDEAL NOVELTY CO. COMPOSITION AND WOODEN "PINOCCHIO" CHARACTER DOLL, reverse of head with maker's name, swivel composition head, hand-painted facial features including eyes, eyebrows, eyelashes, and a pink open mouth, composition-over-wood torso body, painted red and white, retains original label "PINOCCHIO DES. & C BY WALT DISNEY" wooden legs and arms, multiple joints, lightly molded black-painted hair. Vintage clothing including a yellow felt hat and a blue silk bow. Circa 1940. 11" H.
Condition
Very good overall condition with expected wear, overall crazing to the composition, top of hair peak with some minor losses/roughness, one ear with a repair.
Deaccessioned by the Wachovia Historical Society to benefit acquisitions and conservation funds.
