NEW JERSEY STONEWARE "ICE WATER" COOLER, salt-glazed, "4" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with flat-top rounded rim, incised ring to neck and above base, applied arched handles, hole just above base, Albany-slip glaze interior. Cobalt highlighting stamp, incised script "Ice Water", rings, and additional cobalt encircling handles. Attributed to Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ. 1883-1923. 13 7/8" H, 10 1/2" D rim.
Excellent condition, having a shallow rim chip to back and one handle having two shallow chips to underside, otherwise undamaged. Manufacturing flaws including large kiln kiss to back, as made.
