NEW MARKET, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE JARS, LOT OF THREE, lead-glazed, each of wide-mouth semi-ovoid form with tooled rim, including an approximately one-gallon capacity example with additional manganese glaze and an approximately one quart and a half capacity example having cut-off lines to base underside. Probably John George Schweinfurt (1825-1907), possibly John G. Coffman (1803-1889), New Market, Shenandoah Co., VA. Circa 1870. 6 1/2" to 8 5/8" H.

Condition

One undamaged; manganese example with rim hairline; cut-off lines example having rim with a shallow rim chip and hairline.
