SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA EARTHENWARE / REDWARE JARS, LOT OF TWO, manganese- and lead-glazed, wide-mouth ovoid form with rounded rim, comprising one with double incised medial rings and one diminutive example having incised shoulder ring, each unglazed to base underside. Possibly J. Buck, Woodstock, VA. Circa 1840. 5 1/8" H, 5 3/4" D rim and 3 1/4" H, 3 3/4" D rim.
Diminutive example undamaged; larger example with chip to interior rim and some minor chips to foot.
