PENNSYLVANIA FOLK ART METAMORPHOSIS / TRANSFORMATION HAND-COLORED ENGRAVINGS, SET OF FOUR, on laid paper, from Metamorphosis; or, a Transformation of Pictures, with Poetical Explanations, for the Amusement of Young Persons by Benjamin Sands with illustrations by James Poupard, first published at Philadelphia, c. 1787, each featuring an image to exterior that folds open to reveal another image having text in German, including Adam and Eve, and a Lion. Late 18th/early 19th century. One 3 1/2" x 5 3/4" closed.
Good to very good visual condition with light toning, scattered spotting and discoloration, a few to some short tears along edges; lion rampant with lower flap detached having small losses along bottom edge.
