PIEDMONT NORTH CAROLINA INLAID WALNUT BLANKET CHEST, rectangular two-board lid fitted with applied edge molding embellished with complex line inlay, over a dovetailed case, interior with open till, two short drawers at base exhibiting bold barberpole-inlaid banding, raised on a cut-out bracket-foot base. Yellow pine secondary wood. Retains an old surface with warm color. Possibly Mordecai Collins (Davidson Co., NC). Early 19th century. 29 1/4" H, 50 3/4" W, 23 1/2" D.

Condition
Very good overall condition with areas of expected wear. Old knot repair and areas of discoloration to lid. Proper left front foot with restoration. Breaks and small losses to hinges.
