RED BOOK ARTIST (NEW ENGLAND, ACTIVE C. 1830), ATTRIBUTED, FOLK ART HOLLOW-CUT SILHOUETTE OF A WOMAN, a fine example, carefully delineated in watercolor / gouache with pencil highlights, three-quarter length depiction of subject sporting black high-waisted dress with organdy-type sleeves, jeweled buckle, and white lace collar. Housed under glass in period, possibly original, mahogany-veneered frame with brass ringer hanger, pine and chestnut secondary. Circa 1830. 4 1/2" x 3 1/2" sight, 6" x 5" OA.

Very good overall condition with moderate toning. Frame excellent overall with very minor cracks and repairs to veneer.
