RICHMOND, VIRGINIA COIN SILVER TEASPOONS, SET OF 11, each having a pointed oval bowl on a backwards-tipped fiddle handle with pointed shoulders and engraved "JG" initials reportedly for the Gatewood family. Each marked "MITCHELL" to the back for William Mitchell Jr. of Richmond, VA (active 1818-1845). Total weight: 7.495 ozt. First half 19th century. 5 5/8" L.

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including very slight bending, nicks, one or a few minute/small dents, and/or worn spots to bowl tips and engraving; one spoon with possible repair along lower edge near terminal of handle.
