SCHERMERHORN POTTERY ATTRIBUTED, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with rounded rim, beaded neck ring, incised shoulder ring, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt open flower design with center pistil and wavy leaves to each side, additional cobalt to handle terminals. Attributed to John P. Schermerhorn (1788-1850), Richmond Factory, Henrico County, VA. 1817-1837. 9 1/2" H, 6" D.
