SCHERMERHORN POTTERY, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately three-gallon capacity, bold ovoid form with heavy squared rim, beaded neck ring, three incised shoulder rings, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt closed double-blossom floral decoration on both sides, additional cobalt across handles and to terminals. John P. Schermerhorn (1788-1850), Richmond Factory, Henrico County, VA. 1817-1837. 14" H, 6 1/4" D.
