SCHERMERHORN POTTERY, RICHMOND, VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE JAR, salt-glazed, approximately one-gallon capacity, ovoid form with slightly rounded rim, beaded and incised neck ring, and applied arched handles. Brushed cobalt closed double-blossom floral design, additional cobalt across handles and at terminals. John P. Schermerhorn (1788-1850), Richmond Factory, Henrico County, VA. 1817–1850. 8 3/4" H, 5 1/4" D rim.
