STAFFORDSHIRE AMERICAN HISTORICAL TRANSFER-PRINTED CERAMIC TEA ARTICLES, LOT OF THREE, each featuring light blue transfer "Columbian Star / Octr 28th 1840.", as printed to underside, created to commemorate the election of William Henry Harrison as the ninth president, it depicts a charming log cabin with geometric stars border decoration, comprising a hexagonal-form covered sugar with matching, fitted teapot cover, and a cup and saucer set. Additional marks to underside include a garter-style mark with "Jn Ridgway" below pattern name, saucer with impressed "34" and sugar with printed "3". John Ridgway, Hanley, England. 1830-1841. 5 1/8" HOA.
