STAFFORDSHIRE TRANSFER-PRINTED LION MOTIF CERAMIC SOUP TUREEN, having blue transfer "ZOOLOGICAL / Sketches." pattern, as printed to underside, each side featuring a standing lion with irritable expression flanked by birds on a flowering tree branch and cover with a stealthy spotted leopard. Additional marks to underside include printed lion and bird with "J.M&S" below. Job Meigh & Son, Hanley, England. 1805–1834. 11 1/4" HOA, 10 1/2" x 8" rim.
