STEVE MITCHELL (AMERICAN) THE MOON LANDING OIL PAINTING, oil on canvas, depicting an astronaut during the 1969 Apollo moon landing standing with flag and equipment on the moon's surface, signed lower right "Steve Mitchell", title and artist's name written to back of stretcher. Framed in original gold frame. Late 20th/21st century. 16 3/4" x 20 3/4" OA.
Condition
Good condition overall with minor damage to painting and frame, a dent is present in lower right quadrant where something has poked the canvas, but no hole was made, and no paint has been lost.
Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
