STRASBURG, SHENANDOAH VALLEY OF VIRGINIA DECORATED STONEWARE PAN, slightly tapering form, "1" gallon capacity mark, applied arched tab handles. Brushed cobalt dropped feather decoration repeated four times on each side, additional cobalt at handle terminals. Probably Samuel Harrison Sonner (1821-1901), Strasburg, VA. 1854-1884. 4 3/4" H, 10 3/4" D rim.
Condition
Rim having two shallow chips and a minor hairline crack, one handle with minor chip, and some staining.
