TENNESSEE CHERRY BLANKET CHEST, hinged rectangular top with applied molding over open interior, post-and-panel case with three front panels and a panel to each end, raised on sharply tapered square legs, cut-out scallops to front and end skirts. Poplar secondary wood. Retains a good old refinished surface with warm color. Attributable to Blount or Smith Co., possibly Carthage, TN. 1830-1850. 27" H, 36 1/2" W, 18" D.
