TURTLE / IGLOO INK BOTTLES, LOT OF TWO, aqua, round dome-top forms with one having 6-panelled rear and plain front for label, embossed "J & I E M" around panels and "PATD OCT 31ST 1865" around dome, the other unpanelled with oval body and molded pen rest at neck and embossed "G. M. W. & A. A. S." around rear heel, having a thick top-to-bottom so-called "bird swing" on interior, both bottles with round necks and roughly factory-ground straight mouths. American. Third or fourth quarter 19th century. 1 1/2" HOA, 2 3/16" D base J&IEM, 2 3/4" W oval.

J&IEM example undamaged, oval-shaped example excellent with minor interior residue and some sickness, and a couple minor nicks around base edge. Both with roughness and flaking at upper edges of lips or along neck mold seams, especially J&IEM. all as made.
